Aquatics Team

INSTRUCTORS

Dolphin Swim School is proud to partner with Swim Schools International (SSI) in order to bring a comprehensive and modern curriculum to our families. All of our swim teachers are extensively trained in the SSI curriculum. Training continues with in service sessions and updates on any new information every month, sometimes weekly.

While “comfort through repetition” is our core concept, water safety is a building block in our curriculum, and we take that safety for our students seriously. All of our teachers are also first aid and cpr certified.

Every member of our Aquatics team has a passion for the water. Swim team, water polo, free diving, mermaiding, and scuba are some of the water sports our teachers enjoy outside of teaching others to swim. Several of our teachers are also parents, so they truly understand parents concerns and students needs. You will also find that many of our teachers are students, some working on water related degrees!

JaRon Williams

Swim Teacher, LifeGuard, LifeGuard Instructor

I’ve been a swim instructor at Dolphin Swim School for 7 months, and a competitive swimmer and diver for 10 years. Two of those years I was a performer at the professional level. I am very detail oriented, but still make class fun for all my students as they master their water safety and competitive stroke skills.

Jessica Marty

Swim Teacher, LifeGuard

Hello My name is Jessica and I have been a swim instructor for 10 years! I started swimming competitively when I was 9. I’ve been at Dolphin for about 5 years now and I love it! I’m a mom to a very handsome 6 year old and I’m also a full time student pursuing a career in Nursing. One of my favorite parts about being a Swim Teacher is being able to see a child’s face after they complete a skill they never thought they could do!

Nicole Carpenter

Swim Teacher

Hi! I'm Nicole. I have been working with kids since I was one. I have a background in special education. I grew up in and around water and could swim before I could walk. I love swimming and I love teaching people of all ages how to swim, stay safe and enjoy the water. I love water, and the healing power it possesses.

Rachael “Rei” Bangerter

Swim Teacher

I have been swimming competitively for most of my life, teaching lessons for several years, and coaching swimming for 2 years. I enjoy teaching people of all ages to swim! I look forward to seeing students' enthusiasm as they improve.

Angela “Angie” Korabik

Swim Teacher, LifeGuard

I’ve been around water for my entire life. From competitive swimming and diving to water polo to SCUBA to lifeguarding, I’ve always been associated with the water in some way since I was 6 years old. As well as being passionate about water safety and teaching children to swim, I’m also passionate about natural aquatic ecosystems and am currently working on my PhD studying seaweeds and California’s kelp forests at UC Davis.

Michael “Mike” Pittman

Swim Teacher

I have gone swimming every summer and been taught many different ways to swim ever since I was 3 years old, and now I get the chance to share my experience with my students.

Elizabeth “Liz” Liz Chumak

Swim Teacher

Hi, my name is Liz and I haven’t left the water since I was in my mother's womb. From swimming to snorkeling and even scuba diving, exploring the unknown mysteries of the underwater world has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. This is why teaching children to be safe and have fun in the water is such fulfilling work, and I look forward to educating and inspiring the future generation of aquanauts
